Supertec Machinery Introduces Next Smaller Size Mini Genie CNC Cylindrical Grinder
Supertec Machinery is proud to announce their newest size of the Mini Genie CNC
Cylindrical Grinder to the North American market. The New 2020A anglehead and 2020P plunge type grinders are designed for parts with a size range of 8” swing and 8” between centers. The highlight of new design of the 2020 models is a direct drive on the Z axis (2520 is belt driven) for faster acceleration and deceleration. With a direct drive system there is zero backlash resulting in tighter tolerances and more accurate parts. With a smaller 16” wheel the spindle achieves a better dynamic balance allowing for maximum part finishes. Additionally the lower swing over the table means less weight on the linear guide ways thus extending the longevity of the ways.
The new models are designed for shops with limited floor space in mind. With a total footprint of only 78” x 78” (43 sq. ft.) and its high precision performance this grinder is ideal for any shop. With the Mitsubishi M80 control and Supertec’s I-Grind conversational shop floor language the grinder is easy to learn and easy to program making it ideal for any shop. The Mini Gene comes in two styles, a plunge model with the wheelhead set at 90 degrees and the anglehead model with the wheehead set at 20 degrees. The anglehead is ideal for faster stock removal and a better surface finish on face and shoulder grinding applications. A Heidenhain .000002” linear scale is used for improved accuracy and repeatability with machine tolerances of .0001” or better attainable. Both machine axes utilize linear guideways for a smoother more accurate movement.
Some of the standard features of the Mini Genie include a full enclosure, infinitely variable workhead, coolant system with paper filter and magnetic separator, and a taper adjustable tailstock.
